Choosing your electric boiler

Calculate the power of your boiler

Discover the ideal boiler to compensate for the loss of your home

Choosing your electric boiler

A boiler heats the water in a central heating circuit. Start with the building’s heating needs and the characteristics of your installation.

Check the connections

Ask your installer to check the available electrical supply, its capacity and the hydraulic circuit. Protection devices and connections depend on the model and installation. Refer to the manual.

Compare the full cost

Include the boiler, accessories, installation and running costs. kW describes power; billed kWh depend on heating demand, operating time and controls.

Prepare your request for advice

Tell us the country, floor area, insulation, current equipment and electrical supply. Mention any domestic hot water requirement separately from space heating.

Frequently asked questions

Which power rating should I choose?

Use the calculator as a starting point. Homes with the same floor area can have different heating needs. Confirm heat loss and connection requirements before selecting a power rating.

How do Mini Europe and Mini Europe Plus differ?

The Mini Europe Plus range shown here is equipped with a Wilo circulation pump. Compare the specifications and components for the chosen power rating. Manuals for both ranges are available below.

Is the power rating the same as energy consumption?

No. kW measures power and kWh measures energy. Consumption depends on the building, temperature setting, climate and heating periods. The nominal power alone cannot predict your bill.

Can I keep my radiators or underfloor heating?

These boilers serve a water-based heating circuit. Your installer must check operating temperatures, flow, controls and the safety equipment required by your existing circuit.

Where can I find installation information?

Read the manual for your chosen range and the accessory documentation. Have electrical and hydraulic connections checked by a qualified professional. Contact us if you are unsure about the model.

How can I get help with an installed boiler?

Prepare the model reference, serial number, symptoms and, if possible, photos of the installation. Thermogroup can help with remote diagnosis and identifying relevant parts. Never work on equipment while it is energised.
